Ingredients:
For Marinating:
·
1-pound raw jumbo
shrimps, peeled and
·
1/2 teaspoon
salt
·
4 teaspoons
soy sauce
·
1 teaspoon
chili powder (optional)
·
2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
·
½ teaspoon
black pepper powder
For Cooking:
·
8/9 cloves
garlic
·
Onion cubes (optional)
·
4/5 green
chilies (optional)
·
1 tablespoon
butter
For Garnishing:
·
1 tablespoon
lemon juice
·
1 tablespoon chopped
cilantro
·
1 tablespoon roasted
chili flakes (optional)
Direction:
Step 1:
Wash the shrimps and peel
it up to the last part of tail, drain it and pat dry with paper towel to remove
the remaining water.
Step 2:
Take the shrimp in a
mixing bowl. To marinate, add ½ teaspoon of salt, 4 teaspoons of soy sauce and
1 teaspoon of chili powder. Mix it well with a silicon spatula. Don’t massage
to much. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
Step 3:
Add 2 tablespoons of
barbeque sauce and ½ teaspoon of black paper powder. Mix it again with the
spatula. And let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. If you have time,
you may let it marinate for 2-3 hours but it must have to be in the
refrigerator to preserve the freshness.
Step 4:
Take few skewers. Add few
garlic cloves and cubed onions to the marinated shrimps and mix all together.
The marinating sauce will enhance the flavor of garlic when cooked with shrimps.
Sew the shrimps, garlic and onions however you like.
Step 5:
On a grill pan (you may
use nonstick fry pan), melt 1 tablespoon butter and lay the skewers and cook it
covered on medium heat for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, turn the shrimps and
brush some marinating sauce (left over in the bowl after sewing the shrimp)
over the shrimps and let cook for another 5 minutes. In total of 10 minutes
cooking time the shrimp barbecue should be ready to come of the pan.
Garnish and serve it with
1 tablespoon lemon juice, roasted chili flakes, and chopped cilantro.
Note:
·
If you have
time, you may marinate for 2-3 hours, but it needs to be refrigerated to
preserve the freshness.
· Don’t massage the shrimp too much.
