Hey Fish Lovers! Welcome back!
Let’s cook a special dish of “Climbing Perch Fish”
Here I have 3 Large Farm raised climbing perch fishes.
These weight about 2 lbs together.
Made some deep incisions on both sides,
It will help the marinating process
as well as proper infusion of spices into the fish.
For Marinating, add ½ tbsp Turmeric Powder,
½ tsp Salt and 1 tbsp Lemon Juice.
Massage these well on the sides of the fishes.
When done, let it rest for 15 minutes.
In the meantime, prepare the masala sauce.
Add ½ tsp turmeric powder,
½ tsp Salt, ½ tsp Chili powder,
1 tsp Cumin Powder, ½ tsp Ginger Paste,
½ tsp Garlic Paste, 3 tsps Onion pastes.
Now add ¼ cup water and mix to make paste.
On a Nonstick frypan, add ¼ cup mustard oil,
fry the climbing fishes on high medium heat.
Flip & fry both sides, until it turns light brown.
Carefully remove the fishes from the pan.
Use 2 spatulas to avoid breaking the fishes.
On the same pan over medium heat,
add ½ tsp cumin seeds & ½ tsp black cumin seeds.
Sauté for a minute and add the spice paste.
Sauté for 2-3 minutes till the oil separates.
Add the fried fish and gently cover them with spices.
Add ¼ cup of water to it and mix with the sauce.
Cover and cook on low medium heat for 5 minutes.
Flip the fishes & cook the other sides for 5 minutes.
The Climbing Perch Fish masala fry is ready to be served.
